Moray Street Drama Centre
Background of Our Premises
Since the organisation's founding nearly 90 years ago, Wick Players have had several storage facilities in and around Wick. In the the new Millenium the club ventured out in search for a more permanent premises which would be suitable for both storage, production preparation and rehearsing. The premises which is a former furniture store (called "Grover Clyne's") went up for sale in 2004 and the club were fortunate enough to become its proud new owners.

The Centre
The complex consists of a ground floor which houses a spacious foyer, two large rehearsal halls, a workshop, painting and design room, a substantial wardrobe and of course facilities such as a kitchen and disabled-access toilet, while the first floor of the building comprises of an additional rehearsal hall and two large storage sections. In 2019, plans went underway for the renovation and upgrading of various areas in the building. Dampness had become an issue due to the age of the property and "wear and tear" was beginning to show. These plans consisted of the modernisation of our upstairs rehearsal hall to make it a viable and more comfortable space for our junior members, also to refurbish our ground floor spaces.
