What is "TAKE 5!" ?
TAKE 5! is our new annual five-session youth workshop for current junior members and potential new players which runs for five consecutive evenings throughout summer.
What's It All About?
The objective for TAKE 5! is to introduce youngsters to the world of amateur dramatics through the means of ice breaker games and drama activities whilst giving them an insight into Wick Players, giving a new generation of young people an understanding of how we operate as a club and interjecting the basic skills for acting on the stage. As well as the workshop being a golden opportunity for the club to recruit new and keen young thespians, it is a fantastic way of developing the skills of our current junior members.
Who Is Responsible for Running the Workshops?
Purely by volunteers. The schedule for TAKE 5! is collated and decided upon by the club's board of directors and the workshop itself is run by some of our dedicated adult members who have a wealth of experience in amateur dramatics, willing and able to pass their skills on to a new generation.
What Age Category Is the Workshop Suitable For?
Potential new junior members participating in TAKE 5! must be within our current junior age category of 11 and 16.
TAKE 5! is open to everyone, including current juniors who are already members and potential new junior members.
What Does it Cost for a Child to Attend?
For insurance purposes, it is important that every individual taking part in an event or production being run by Wick Players is a paid up member of the club. Members pay an annual fee and the current price for a junior member is £5.
Do I Have to Register My Child?
Yes, it is important that every child who would like to attend is registered. An online registration form will be provided here on our website as we approach the first session of the workshop. If your child no longer wants to attend after registering, it is important that you let us know as soon as possible so that we can offer that space to another child as there are limited spaces for the workshop.
Do I Have to Enter the Premises When I Drop off or Collect My Child?
It is your responsibility as your child's parent or guardian to arrange for your child to be dropped off and / or collected from Moray Street Drama Centre. You do not have to enter the premises, however, we do ask that you enter the premises when you drop your child off for the first session so that you can complete a copy of our Junior Permission and In Case of Emergency form and so that you can pay your child's membership fee.
